Shapers » Jamie Cheal

ShaperFounder and owner of Chilli Surfboards, Jamie Cheal first stood up on a surfboard at Greenmount, on the Gold Coast, at the age of 13. From that day on, he never stopped surfing.

In 1995, at 22 years old, Cheal shaped his first surfboard, and two years later, Chilli Surfboards was born in a small factory in Brookvale. Over the years, demand continued to grow, and production increased week after week. Soon, Cheal was helping Australia’s top surfers achieve victories riding his boards. Not long after, in 2004, Andy Irons rode a Chilli Surfboard in his campaign for a third world title, although he ultimately fell short that year.

Cheal works tirelessly to create a wide range of models to suit all types of surfers. Check out the models on the website and find your next dream board. Chilli Surfboards manufactures boards in Japan, the United States, Europe, Taiwan, and now Brazil.
