ShaperIn 1993, Evandro Bonservizi shaped his first surfboard in the backyard of his home, using a cheese grater. At the time, he had limited knowledge and access to information about surfboard shaping, as well as no proper tools. Even so, he ventured into creating his own board.

In 1995, he officially began his professional career at the former Da Hui Surfboards factory in São Paulo, working alongside the Banys brothers, Paulo and Victor. He dedicated several years to mastering every step of the board-building process. During this period, Evandro shaped boards for two major international surfers, Hawaiians Johnny Boy Gomes and Kaimanna Henry.

In 2000, he joined the shaping team at Pro-Ilha Surfboards in São Francisco do Sul, Santa Catarina.

In 2007, Evandro was selected to work in partnership with Hawaiian shaper Wade Tokoro, one of the most respected shapers in the world, acting as his main back shaper in South America. He also worked as a back shaper in Brazil for the Californian brand Rusty Surfboards.

In 2009, invited by Tokoro, Evandro traveled to Hawaii for an exchange program at the Tokoro Surfboards headquarters on the island of Oahu. During his time in Hawaii, he gained experience surfing a variety of waves on the North Shore, expanding his knowledge and further refining his board designs.

A few years later, Australian shaper James Cheal, from Chilli Surfboards, licensed the production of his boards with Pro-Ilha, choosing Evandro as his back shaper in South America.

More recently, Evandro has traveled to places such as California and Portugal, shaping boards and continuing to expand his knowledge and experience.

Today, Evandro Bonservizi works with a team of renowned athletes, including world champion Adriano de Souza “Mineirinho,” Santiago Muniz, current Brazilian champion Yuri Gabryel, among other professionals who also collaborate in the development of high-performance surfboard models.
