John is globally known for having produced, for many years, the surfboards of renowned Hawaiian surfer Shane Dorian, who once again earned the award for best wave of the season with his barrel at Jaws at the end of 2012.
With over 40 years of experience, the shaper is considered one of the top five of all time. He has built boards for nearly every professional “alive,” as he likes to say.
As a shaper, John designs his boards the way he believes they should be surfed: fast and radical. He strives to create boards that challenge surfers, pushing them to the limits of their technique and ability—whether they are beginners, professionals, young, or more experienced riders.
