Think of a board that would be your next surfboard, then trim 4 inches (10 cm) off the nose. The fullest point is moved 2 inches (5 cm) forward of center instead of 2 inches back. Add a little extra midsection volume. Then merge all of this so the nose is slightly fuller with a moderate, mellow rocker.
The board paddles well, is great for catching drops, and fits nicely in the wave because it’s shorter. The tail design is made for quality waves.
Having the fullest point forward gives a sense of a longer rail line, while still providing more control with less overall surface area.
Several pros and various “brows” rode this board last summer in heavy surf—waves as intense as a fire-breathing dragon—across Mexico, South Pacific, Bali, and Indo. The feedback has been extremely positive!
