About the board:
Simply put, the Egg Not is a pumpkin-tail version of our mid-length board, the eGG. With the rising popularity of mid-lengths, we figured it was a no-brainer to offer a mid-length with a pumpkin tail.
The Squash tail adds a bit more surface area, extends the rail line, and has a more articulated feel compared to a round tail. The Egg Not is a great board to have in your quiver. When the surf is average, it provides plenty of wave-catching ability and can handle sections, yet the board remains loose enough to turn easily.
Even when the surf gets a bit bigger, it still performs surprisingly well! The Egg Not features a relaxed entry rocker, helping with paddling speed, wave catching, and overall glide. The board’s curve is slightly above average, which helps tighten your turning arcs without sacrificing speed.
The thickness is a bit thin for a board of this size. These thinner rails make it easier to drop into waves and help the board hold better in larger surf. The final setup is up to you: for a more performance-oriented feel, we recommend a 4-fin setup. If you want something a bit cruisier or more traditional, try a 2+1 setup.
